The 24 in. storm drain grate, as part of a complete drainage solution, works with 24 in. catch basin drains (and extension risers) which connect to drain pipes to carry the water to a discharge point downstream such as a pop-up emitter, or to percolate into the ground with a dry well or infiltration trench. The large catch basin grate is made of polyethylene, a type of plastic, treated with UV inhibitors to prevent cracking or fading in the sun. Strategic openings on the expansive 231.7 sq. in. open surface area allow for 709 GPM flow rate capacity. The drain cover is rated for NDS Class B loads (up to 175 psi) when properly installed.
